Mission Statement
CSRA Name Change is a project dedicated to empowering trans people living in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) with the tools and knowledge they need in order to change their names. We believe that all people deserve to live authentically and have agency over their legal identities. We aim to provide resources and accurate information as well as reduce financial barriers for trans people seeking to change their legal names.
CSRA Name Change wishes to honor the memory of Rowan Feldhaus, who paved the way for us to be able to change our names without discrimination.
About the Creator:
My name is Caleb. Changing my own name had profoundly positive impacts on my mental health, sense of safety, and sense of alignment with my identity and how I am perceived. I simply want everyone who desires such an experience to be able to access it. I couldn’t have changed my name without help and guidance from Augusta Trans Support, and I wish to share what I’ve learned and pay their kindness forward with CSRA Name Change.
